While making public the decisions of politburo meeting that concluded Friday in a press meet at the party headquarters in Koteshwor Saturday, Unified CPN (M ) laid stake on leading the new national consesus governmednt ahead.

The Maoists have decided to continue consensus bid for the formation of national consensus government under the party leadership and intensify protest in the House if the government fails to abide by the May 28 pact. On the most contententious issue of PLA integration, the main opposition is for concluding the peace process as per the provisions of Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) together with new constitution-writing process.

The politburo meeting also took the decision to convene state and district level assembly in July/August and expanded central committee meeting in September in a bid to strengthen the organizational structure and ideological height of the party, read a press statement issued by the central committee Saturday.

Party, not a person, counts: Prachanda

Stating that the Maoists will head next unity government, the Maoist strongman Prachanda said what counts is not a person but a party to lead the new government.

While responding to queries from mediapersons after the press meet organized to bring out the politburo decisions, Prachanda said the Prime Ministerial candidate from the Maoists will soon be made public in right time.
